The Vision
Imagine an Earth Day festival unlike anything else in the Southeast built around one of the world's most extraordinary natural landmarks: the nearly perfectly circular Lake DeFuniak.
The day begins with a simple gathering of prayer and gratitude, acknowledging the Creator and giving thanks for the remarkable world we have been entrusted to care for.
Then, for one unforgettable day, the lake becomes the heart of the experience.
Music rises from a floating stage in the center of the water. Paddleboards and kayaks gather around the performances. Families explore the lake through guided adventures and environmental discovery. Under the trees, conservationists, educators, artists and sustainable businesses invite people to learn, play and connect.
As the sun sets, the celebration moves toward food and storytelling, culminating in a spectacular evening of cinema on the lake beneath the stars.
This isn't simply an Earth Day festival. It's a new destination experience for DeFuniak Springs.
Our vision is to create an annual event that gives people across the Southeast a reason to come to DeFuniak Springs, experience this remarkable lake, discover our community, and return year after year.
